Stats NZ Tatauranga Aotearoa is New Zealand's official data agency.
We collect information from people and organisations through censuses and surveys. We use this information to publish insights and data about New Zealand, and support others to use the data.
Stats NZ is a government department, but we operate independently of government.
Over 1,000 people work at Stats NZ. We have staff at offices in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, and in the field across New Zealand.
Our vision is to unleash the power of data to change lives.
